About The Position

The Licensed Therapist provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health services to children, families, and individuals within non-specialty mental health settings. Conducts screenings, assessments, and brief interventions for mild to moderate behavioral health concerns. Develops and implements client-centered treatment plans, supports early intervention and prevention efforts, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • MA or MS in a behavioral science field in psychology, clinical psychology, or social work.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience providing therapy services.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children and families.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
  • Has strong observation, assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapeutic skills; is eager to learn and is open/accepting of feedback for personal and professional growth.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal or public behavioral health systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of California.
  • Valid California Driver's License with the ability to qualify for coverage under the Agency insurance plan.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is required.
  • Working experience with young children, adolescents, and families.
  • Some out-of-office travel required, routine travel within the region, and between facilities.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and Medi-Cal compliance requirements.
  • Provide verification of State-required vaccines upon hire for: Influenza (from August 1 to December 1), Pertussis, and Measles. Acceptable verifications include an immunization record and physician statement. Exceptions to vaccinations: Flu can be waived by completing an annual waiver.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, strengths, and clinical goals.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments, including safety planning when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, medical providers, and school personnel.
  • Engage and support families/caregivers in the therapeutic process.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
  • Completes required documentation, maintains client charts, and adheres to Medi-Cal/CenCal, HIPAA, and contractual regulations.
  • Provides referrals and coordinates care with external providers and community resources.
  • Maintain productivity standards and meet service delivery expectations.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster respect, teamwork, trust, clarity, and collaboration with the client, their family, caseworkers, other practitioners/supervisors, program managers, and CommUnify administrative staff.
  • Maintains strict communication boundaries and maintains the confidentiality of client, family, and staff information.
  • Organizes schedule, prioritizes responsibilities, and manages time effectively to complete assessments, treatment plans, client/family therapy sessions, progress notes, and administrative duties.
  • Works cooperatively within the agency structure, interpreting, reviewing, and adapting agency policies/procedures to improve the administration and programming of Behavioral Health Services.
  • Completes monthly reports to the Behavioral Health Services Director and Clinical Analyst for Children Services.
