About The Position

As a Licensed Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in our outpatient substance abuse treatment program. You will be responsible for conducting clinical evaluations and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, groups, and families. Your focus will be on assessing client functioning across multiple domains—including work, family, and daily routines—to identify needs and provide the necessary resources for long-term recovery.

Requirements

  • Active NJ State Licensure/Registration as a LAC, LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCADC is strictly required.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related healthcare field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with chemical dependency and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience within an OP, IOP, or PHP behavioral healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in various individual, group, and family therapy modalities and group dynamics.
  • Ability to establish rapid rapport and maintain a therapeutic climate of safety, trust, and positive regard.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both client interaction and clinical documentation.
  • Skilled in recognizing and managing conflict within therapeutic group settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality individual, group, and family counseling tailored to substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and review histories to determine program suitability and identify specific client needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and modify measurable treatment plans based on clinical research and ongoing client progress.
  • Act as a client advocate and provide immediate therapeutic intervention during crisis situations.
  • Participate in weekly clinical team meetings to ensure integrated care and communicate pertinent client information to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain rigorous and accurate records of client history, progress notes, and services rendered in compliance with state standards.
