About The Position

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system dedicated to providing life-changing care. We offer rewarding opportunities to serve all ages in various settings. This role provides individual, family, and group counseling services to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The Therapist is responsible for documenting patient progress, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support treatment goals and continuity of care, and promoting stabilization and recovery during hospitalization. The position involves conducting assessments, supporting treatment and discharge planning, and providing interventions for patients with acute mental health and behavioral health needs. This role is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required. Four years' professional experience in a substance abuse or mental health setting and a bachelor's degree may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.
  • Must have experience with mental health and/or co-occurring issues.
  • Must have LCSW, LPC-MHSP, LMFT-MHSP license or be a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed School Psychologist.
  • Must have a valid FL driver’s license.
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with persons with legal, mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
  • Possess knowledge of mental illness and recovery including the ability to collaborate with community partners.
  • Knowledge of community resources or ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use concerns.
  • Enthusiastic about influencing positive change in our clients’ lives.
  • Understanding of populations affected by mental illness, proven skills in networking among diverse agencies, and strong planning and personnel management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
  • Provide written documentation regarding patient progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support treatment goals and continuity of care.
  • Promote stabilization and recovery during hospitalization.
  • Conduct assessments.
  • Support treatment and discharge planning.
  • Provide intervention for patients experiencing acute mental health and behavioral health needs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment recommendations.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or behavioral health emergencies.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to treatment and discharge planning throughout the patient's hospitalization.
  • Assist the discharge planner in evaluating barriers to discharge, identifying the safest post-discharge placement and level of care, and coordinating appropriate follow-up services and supports.
  • Reports to work as scheduled on a daily basis and performs duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Provide crisis intervention services in the community.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and updating treatment plans with input from the client and family.
  • Conduct clinical behavioral health assessments.
  • Enters written documentation into Electronic Medical Record in a timely manner for all services rendered.
  • Provide supportive and educational counseling services (individual, family and group) to develop daily living and coping skills.
  • Assist clients with developing natural support systems.
  • Refer, advocate, and link clients and families to additional services as needed.
  • Complete all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance.
  • Maintains departmental productivity expectations.
