About The Position

We are seeking a part-time mental health therapist for our School-Based programs across West Allis/West Milwaukee District schools and Westosha and Walworth County schools. The role involves working directly within schools to provide intervention, including individual and group therapy, education and consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed. PSG/CIP is a community-based social services organization dedicated to helping individuals and families reach their potential through dynamic and innovative programming.

Requirements

Wisconsin State Licensed Therapist (LPC or LCSW)
Master's degree in clinical mental health, social work, psychology or other related field
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

Interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting
Experience working with schools
Understanding of family systems
Understanding of the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma

Responsibilities

Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.
Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
