About The Position

This position supports the Organization by providing counseling services for mental illness and substance use disorder. The role involves signing off on and supporting non-independent licensed social workers, supervising social worker and/or community health worker students, completing screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT), and helping clients gain access to resources. The position also requires maintaining medical records.

Requirements

  • Must be Social Work Licensed in the State of Ohio (LISW).
  • At least one year of counseling experience.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Must have experience in Mental Health counseling.
  • EMR/EHR experience required.
  • Competency in working sensitively and respectfully with people of various cultures and social status.
  • Skills to expertly deliver exceptional health care to the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Substance Use Disorder Counseling is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with integrated behavioral health preferred.
  • Multi-lingual (Spanish, Nepali, or Somali) and/or experience in working with interpreters/diverse patient populations preferred.
  • Ability to successfully guide others to create an efficient, harmonious work environment.
  • Supervision certification or supervision experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to Social Work Licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling services for mental illness and substance use disorder.
  • Signs off on and provides support to non-independent licensed social workers providing counseling services.
  • Supervises social worker and/or community health worker students.
  • Completes screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment.
  • Helps clients gain access to resources.
  • Maintains medical records.
  • Assist the providers as needed by administering the highest quality patient care in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Accurately documentation in appropriate medical record.
  • Ensure providers’ orders are properly followed.
  • Triage patients in office visits, walk-ins and via telephone to complete SBIRT or crisis counseling services.
  • Perform the tasks of an LISW.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and work rules.
  • Other duties as necessary or assigned.
