Licensed Social Worker (Master's Degree/LCSW Required) - Acute Psych Setting
About The Position
Highlands Behavioral Health System is seeking a Licensed Social Worker/Therapist for its acute care psychiatric hospital. This role assists in the integration of social services functions into patient care, discharge planning, and aftercare planning. The Social Worker/Therapist provides direct patient care as appropriate, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. They will utilize psychotherapeutic skills to help patients and families understand and resolve problems related to psychiatric illnesses through individual and group therapies. Specific duties include 1:1 therapy with adolescents, leading small focus groups with adolescents, and facilitating a virtual parents support group twice a week. Experience working with adolescents is required.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field such as counseling or psychology
- Previous experience working with adolescents required.
- LCSW required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the integration of social services functions in the patient care, discharge planning and aftercare planning process with other hospital departments, external service organizations, agencies and health care facilities.
- Provides direct care to patient as appropriate and ensures compliance with quality patient care and regulatory standards.
- Assists patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illnesses utilizing group and individual therapies.
- Provides 1:1 therapy with adolescents.
- Leads small focus groups with adolescents.
- Facilitates a virtual parents support group 2x per week.
