Licensed Social Worker / Licensed Professional Counselor
About The Position
PrimeCare Medical is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW or LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at Westmoreland County Prison in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. This is a part-time position scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The role provides behavioral health assessment and monitoring for inmates, supports referrals and placements when appropriate, and helps ensure mental health services meet applicable standards of care. The position also participates in quality assurance, staff education, and performance reporting.
Requirements
- Must hold a license as an LPC, LSW, or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Must have a master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Service field, with a concentration in clinical coursework, training, and/or experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, documenting findings that include at least a mental status examination, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
- Make referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
- Conduct risk assessments using structured interviews and risk assessment tools.
- Manage inmates at risk for suicide or engaging in self-harm according to existing protocols and current policies and procedures.
- Serve as PrimeCare Medical’s mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
- Facilitate admission and placement of inmates or patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
- Monitor all mental health services provided.
- Monitor clinical services to ensure standards of care align with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric and psychological standards.
- Serve as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
- Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
- Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.
Benefits
- Part-time PTO accrues at 1.0 hour for every 30.0 hours of straight-time work, up to a maximum accrual of 64.0 hours.
- Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
