Central State Hospital is seeking a Licensed Psychologist to provide treatment to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance, developmental, and behavioral health needs. The role involves developing and/or completing risk assessments, psychological testing, behavioral plans, and individual and group therapies. The psychologist will also assist in crisis interventions, complete initial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and assist with discharge planning. Participation in a multidisciplinary treatment team is required to assess diagnosis, danger, benefit, and the least restrictive level of care. Additionally, the position may involve providing supervision to practicum students and interns if appropriately credentialed, and testifying for involuntary commitment hearings, competency evaluations, and occasional criminal responsibility evaluations. Training and mentorship are provided for new psychologists, especially for testifying in legal proceedings.
