About The Position

MHM Services of California, a Centurion company, is seeking a Part-time Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join their team at Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino, California. This role involves providing behavioral and psychiatric nursing care, facilitating rehabilitation for forensic clients, patients, or inmates, and observing/intervening in behaviors that could lead to harm or escape. Responsibilities include escorting individuals, performing searches, and inspecting mail and facilities for contraband and safety breaches.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of First Aid methods.
• CPR Required through American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background investigation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a basic level of behavioral and psychiatric nursing care.
• Facilitate the rehabilitation of forensic clients, patients, or inmates.
• Observe and intervene on any behavior that may injure people, damage property, or signal impending escape attempts.
• Escort individuals into the facility.
• Perform searches.
• Inspect mail for any contraband.
• Inspect facilities for any potential safety breaches.
