About The Position

RCSA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate licensed therapist to provide trauma-informed services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and other behavioral health challenges. This role is part of a mission-driven team focused on supporting children and making a difference in their lives.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older and have favorable findings on background checks to include the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Health, and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services criminal record checks, and negative drug test, and a negative TB test.
Comfortability providing therapeutic services to children with a DSM-5 diagnosis of Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder, and requiring structured and frequent, on-site therapy and clinical intervention, and complex care coordination and case management services to support and manage day-to-day activities.
Professional mental health license ( i.e., LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LCSW) valid in the state of Texas
LPC-A expected to be licensed within 3 months
A minimum of one year of experience working with children, families, and other individuals with behavioral health issues
Professional Liability Insurance
Valid Texas Clinical License

Nice To Haves

Experience with trauma-informed care and family/group therapy preferred
A minimum of one year of experience working with children with Autism or Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Is preferred.
Bilingual, Spanish speaking is preferred
Experience with youth in a foster or adoptive setting and knowledge of the DFPS system is preferred.
Knowledge of Autism and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, as well as service delivery standards for these populations.

Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy to children with behavioral, developmental, and emotional challenges.
Complete diagnostic assessments within 72 hours of intake; reassess every 6 months.
Develop and update treatment plans based on measurable clinical goals (initial plan due within 14 days, updated every 90 days).
Deliver services in a variety of settings: residential homes, in-office, or community-based/in-home sessions.
Collaborate with caregivers, caseworkers, legal advocates (e.g., CASA), and other members of the child’s treatment team.
Share in on-call crisis response rotation with a supportive team of therapists and behavioral specialists.
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record system.
Contribute to RCSA’s mission and program philosophies by way of quality of performance and professionalism with both internal and external parties.
Adhere to all current federal and state laws/regulations, as well as internal procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information following the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Immediately report any suspected instances of abuse or neglect to the treatment director or the present administrative team member. Additional reporting to the Child Abuse Hotline will also be required no later than 24 hours after you become aware of the incident.
Establish healthy relationships and communications with the client’s caseworkers/probation officers, Ad-Litems, CASA Advocates, Family Members, and any other party deemed necessary to ensure quality of care.
Actively participate in agency quality assurance activities, including performance and outcomes reviews, case record reviews, incident reviews, and improvement planning.
Demonstrate an awareness and respect for diverse cultures and the individual differences of clients and fellow employees.
Maintain good standing professional licensure as a mental health provider, following individual licensing requirements.
Maintain all training requirements for professional licensure and RCSA regulations.
Attend staff/agency meetings as required.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards as well as RCSA’s internal policies and procedures.
Make recommendations for program and treatment model improvements.
Report to the Treatment Director (or other administrative team member) as necessary regarding support services, personal issues, fiscal considerations, etc.
Attend all meetings and trainings as required.
Complete initial diagnostic assessments on all clients, within 72 hours of intake, to determine initial treatment needs. Thereafter, complete a re-evaluation every 6 months to assess whether clinical services will remain a requirement based on the client's progress through clinical goals.
Develop an initial treatment plan, within 14 days of intake, and update the treatment plan every 90 days to include appropriate clinical interventions/objectives/goals that can be measured and observed.
Provide therapeutic services within RCSA's residential homes, in-office sessions, and potentially community-based or in-home services.
Provide support and crisis management services as needed or as requested by the supervisor. This will include on-call crisis intervention requirements to be split amongst therapists and behavioral support specialists.
Participate in case staffings with other service providers and the client’s internal treatment team.
Maintain all client documentation in the electronic record and complete therapeutic notes no less than 24 hours after the completion of the therapeutic session.
Attend court hearings when necessary.
