The Billingslea Recovery Residence is a long-term residential facility that provides a supportive, alcohol- and drug-free environment in a community setting. This program enhances an alternately funded detoxification service and offers residential support for approximately six to twelve months. Services are provided to adult males, ages 21 to 65, who are experiencing substance use disorders and reside in Bibb, Jones, Monroe, and Twiggs counties. The Recovery Support Counselor provides direct support and assistance to individuals receiving behavioral health and/or substance use services. This position focuses on helping individuals achieve and maintain recovery, improve daily functioning, and increase independence within the community. The Recovery Support Counselor works closely with clinical staff and other team members to implement treatment plans, promote recovery-oriented practices, and provide encouragement and guidance to clients. This role supports individuals in developing effective coping strategies, strengthening life skills, and accessing community resources that promote long-term recovery and stability. The position requires compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting individuals throughout their recovery journey while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
