About The Position

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. This role will assist Anesthesia, Help with blocks, spinals, learn the equipment and supplies. Will also help turnover and set up room for anesthesia between cases.

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
  • 2+ years Nursing Experience (Level II only)
  • Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Level II Only: 18 CNE's per year. • 3 CNE’s in clinical specialty • At least 5 CNE’s in Leadership • Other CNE requirements will be agreed upon with manager
  • Level II Only: • 3 Peer Reviews. • Committee Involvement. • 5 criteria with evidence of each.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
