Carewest is seeking passionate helpers to join their team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team responsible for completing comprehensive client assessments, developing and implementing client care plans that address both physical and psycho-social needs. This role involves monitoring ongoing client care and condition to ensure optimum functioning, reporting changes in client status to the Staff Nurse, and administering prescribed medications. The LPN will also supervise the delivery of medications by unregulated staff and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The practice of an LPN encompasses the application of nursing knowledge, skills, and judgment to assess client needs and provide nursing care reflective of their level of education and knowledge. This position requires maintaining professional and ethical standards in accordance with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta’s (CLPNA) Professional Practice Standards & Code of Ethics, Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care, and Carewest policies. Demonstration of leadership is critical for success. The position is within the Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP), a short-stay restorative care program supporting medically stable adults who require additional assessment, recuperation, and therapy before returning to the community.
