About The Position

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 0.6 Days, Part-Time to join our team at the Journey Club in the prestigious, active, and vibrant community of Westman Village in Calgary, AB. As an LPN, you deliver resident-focused care within the full scope of practice of an LPN role. You’ll work in a home-like environment with the utmost respect towards the individuality and dignity of each resident, family member and co-worker you interact with. Requirements

  • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse program, with experience in gerontology preferred.
  • Current membership in good standing with CLPNA.
  • CPR/BCLS for healthcare provider a requirement.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, concern resolution process and customer service.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills are required in this position.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking and self-education.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service on behalf of the company.
  • Awareness of accident and injury prevention, hazard identification and control; adherence to safe work practices and procedures is essential in this position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the position (may be required to lift, move, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 kilograms).
  • Ability to work on your feet while consistently bending, stretching, walking, lifting or moving items required for the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assisted living and/or long-term care considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care by assessing resident health needs, recording of vital signs, discuss and record chief health concerns, performs tests, administers injections and medications, dressing changes, immunizations, etc.
  • Supervise and evaluate work performance in terms of resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Direct work of healthcare aides based on resident needs and site needs.
  • Protect own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Follow all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
