About The Position
Vital Medical Staffing is seeking dependable, compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our growing PRN team. This role offers flexible opportunities across a variety of healthcare settings, ideal for those looking for extra income, supplemental work, or the freedom to choose when they work. Our nurses provide coverage for hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, behavioral health facilities, assisted living communities, memory care facilities, and clinics throughout Louisiana. Our clients rely on us for critical staffing needs, often on short notice, so nurses willing to pick up last-minute shifts and maintain open communication are highly valued.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted LPN license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent licensed nursing experience preferred
- Current TB test (or willingness to obtain one)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- CPR/BLS must be instructor-led and completed in person (online-only certifications are not accepted)
- Reliable transportation
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work PRN and maintain reliable communication with our staffing team
- Work a minimum of 2 shifts per month
- Keep their availability updated
- Respond promptly to shift requests and recruiter communications
- Arrive on time and prepared for assignments
- Maintain professionalism with facility staff and patients
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of recent licensed nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Monitor and assess patient conditions
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, CNAs, and facility staff
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and care plans
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care
- Maintain professionalism and strong communication during every assignment
