About The Position

This is a Term Full-Time Position (1.0 FTE) for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical Surgical unit. The LPN provides compassionate, patient-centered care within their scope of practice. They collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver safe and effective nursing care, support patients in achieving optimal health outcomes, and ensure adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Yukon Territory through Consumer and Corporate Affairs.
Current C.P.R. Certification.
Minimum of 6 months acute care nursing experience related to assigned department/unit.
Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional LPN nursing care.
Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and within a team.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills within scope of practice, including clinical judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability.
Cross-Cultural awareness.
Advocacy and assertiveness skills.
Basic keyboarding/computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Diploma in Practical Nursing from a Canadian Post-Secondary Institute.
Continuing education in specialty areas (e.g., Pediatric, Mental Health, Wound Care, Palliative Care In-services).
