About The Position

Adelphi is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care and services at a correctional facility in Beaumont, Virginia. The role provides care to patients through collaboration with health team members while adhering to standards of care and practice. This is a contract position with a clinical coverage type, a day shift schedule of 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and a rate of $36 per hour. The start date is listed as ASAP.

Requirements

• Active Virginia license.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the screening, evaluation, and care of inmates under the supervision of a physician and/or registered nurse.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
• Coordinate with other medical and ancillary personnel, as required, to ensure continuity of care.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
• Provide appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situations.
• Comply with all state requirements and facility policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the facility.
