About The Position

As a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse at Evergreen Community in White Rock, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, person-centered care while supporting consistent, high-quality clinical coverage. This role is ideal for experienced LPNs who are currently working part-time or in other casual roles and are committed to picking up regular casual shifts. We’re looking for nurses who are proactive, dependable, and genuinely invested in supporting our residents and care teams. As a Casual LPN, you will be an essential member of our care team, collaborating closely with Registered Nurses and other health professionals to enhance resident well-being. You will bring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset to every shift you take on. This position offers flexibility while still requiring a meaningful level of commitment. Successful candidates will be available for evening and night shifts, with availability at least once per week, and the ability to pick up blocks of shifts throughout the month.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma.
  • Current registration in good standing with BCCNM.
  • Availability for evening and night shifts.
  • Availability to work at least one shift per week, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts.

  • Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred.

  • You are proactive, organized, and confident in your clinical skills, with strong knowledge of medication administration, infection control, outbreak management, pain management, and age-related conditions, including cognitive changes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses to support complex care needs and ensure holistic resident care.
  • Administer medications, complete health assessments, and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Provide safe, respectful, and dignified care aligned with Baptist Housing values.
  • Promote resident wellness through physical, emotional, and social engagement.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using PointClickCare, eMAR, and other electronic systems.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, proactively identifying changes in resident condition.
  • Support continuity of care by reliably accepting and completing scheduled casual shifts.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with residents, families, and team members.
