About The Position

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Flex Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support their Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN office in Green Tree. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated LPN for a busy OB/GYN practice! We provide obstetric and gynecological care for women in all stages of their lives. This position will work Monday through Friday, primarily daylight hours, with an occasional evening shift until 6:00pm as needed. No weekends or holidays! This position will be responsible for assisting RNs with their daily duties, such as test results, OB teaching, and ONAF submissions. The LPN will also assist rooming of patients, injections, vital signs and assisting with answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.

The ideal candidate will have good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced practice.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
• Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Nice To Haves

• One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
• Assist RNs with their daily duties, such as test results, OB teaching, and ONAF submissions.
• Assist rooming of patients, injections, vital signs and assisting with answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.
