About The Position

Provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. The role performs general nursing care and supports clinical providers with patient examinations, treatment, testing, clinical documentation, diagnostic testing, and procedure scheduling. Duties may also include administering injections or medication and collecting and preparing laboratory specimens. The position must comply with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and information-security standards and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Current New York State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• American Heart Association CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of healthcare experience.
• State-approved IV course certification.
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on the specific area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician or clinical provider during patient treatment, examination, and testing.
• Collect clinical data, prepare patients for examination, and document clinical information in patient records.
• Order diagnostic tests as directed by a registered nurse or physician/clinical provider, and gather test results or examine them before provider assessment.
• Schedule procedures and obtain authorizations as necessary.
• Give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare specimens for testing, as applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Protect confidential and covered information and comply with HIPAA, company privacy and information-security policies, the Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, and required training.
