Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care to residents, including comprehensive health assessments, vital-sign monitoring, and development of individualized care plans. The role includes administering prescribed medications and treatments, documenting care accurately, and monitoring for side effects. Direct care may include wound care, IV therapy, and catheter management. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team, physicians, and families to coordinate resident care, and supervises and supports CNAs and other healthcare staff through guidance and training. The role also involves following healthcare regulations and infection-control protocols, and providing emotional support and education to residents and families about care plans. Open shifts include part-time second shift and PRN.
Requirements
- State of Iowa LPN license.

Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ health conditions, including taking vital signs, and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, document them accurately, and monitor for side effects.
- Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, IV therapy, and catheter management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate and optimize resident care, including communicating with physicians and families.
- Supervise and support CNAs and other healthcare staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Comply with healthcare regulations and infection-control protocols to maintain a safe environment for residents.
- Provide emotional support and education to residents and families to promote well-being and understanding of care plans.
