This position provides patient care as directed, documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record, and maintains patient medical records. The role involves administering medication, performing treatments, assisting with doctor's sick call and chronic care clinics, and participating in patient care planning. Responsibilities also include responding to emergencies, collecting vital signs and other specimens, preparing patients for release or transfer, and ensuring discharge medication orders are completed. The nurse will also participate in training, assist other healthcare staff, investigate and document problem areas, review shift reports, assist physicians with medical procedures, and assume duties of other nurses during absences. Additionally, the role involves observing and documenting nursing support to assistive personnel, providing patient education, participating in quality improvement activities, performing administrative duties, attending meetings, scheduling multidisciplinary team meetings, and assisting with inventory and ordering of medical supplies. Overtime is required as needed.
