About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician and functions within the scope of the LPN license. The role contributes to patient assessment and well-being, administers medications, monitors patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments, and performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services. The nurse also educates patients and families about disease treatment plans, post-discharge self-care, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care.

This full-time position is on the 6 East Med Surg department at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville. The schedule is nights, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. A bonus of up to $10,000 may be available for full-time positions. Requirements

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent.
