About The Position

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC West Branch Family Medicine Clinic. This position is 50%25 (20 hours per week) and will primarily support Family Medicine Clinics, with the possibility of floating to other patient specialties/clinic locations such as Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
  • Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards.
  • Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic programs for patients.
  • In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel.
  • In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
  • Maintain a valid LPN certification by taking required continuing education hours.
