About The Position

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC West Branch Family Medicine Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. Iowa Healthcare has been focused on the health and wellness of its patients for over 100 years, providing care for pregnancy, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute visits, annual check-ups, mental health, and on-site laboratory services. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
  • Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
  • In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
  • Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards
