Licensed Practical Nurse
About The Position
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at The Village in Indianola, you will support residents’ health, happiness, and daily experience. You will assess residents, develop individualized care plans, provide nursing care and treatments, coordinate care with the healthcare team, and help maintain a safe, compliant environment. You will also support and educate residents and their families and guide CNAs and other healthcare staff. Available schedules include part-time first shift with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends, full-time second shift with 8-hour shifts and rotating weekends, and PRN.
Requirements
- Hold a State of Iowa LPN License.
- Be compassionate, dependable, and motivated to serve others.
- Have strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ health conditions, including taking vital signs, and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, document accurately, and monitor for side effects.
- Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, IV therapy, and catheter management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate and optimize resident care, including communicating with physicians and families.
- Supervise and support CNAs and other healthcare staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and education to residents and families to promote well-being and understanding of care plans.
