About The Position

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Greenville is seeking compassionate, patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our growing behavioral health team. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team in a supportive and professional environment. Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Charge RN and Director of Nursing. The LPN is responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care while supporting the hospital's mission of providing quality behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
  • Current, unrestricted Mississippi LPN License.
  • Current CPR Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Basic computer and electronic medical record proficiency.
  • Understanding of medical and behavioral health conditions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to assist with patient care activities and emergency situations.
  • Exposure to healthcare environments that may include bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and cleaning agents.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Behavioral health, psychiatric, long-term care, medical-surgical, or acute care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders.
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the treatment team.
  • Document medications, treatments, and patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Assist with patient assessments, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Perform chart reviews and ensure documentation compliance.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and care plans.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care meetings.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and employee health guidelines.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and promote patient dignity and respect.
  • Attend required training, staff meetings, and educational programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
