About The Position

GENESYS Health Alliance is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team at Fayette County Jail in Fayetteville, Georgia. GENESYS Health Alliance is a leader in correctional healthcare, committed to providing quality care to the underserved population. The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing care and treatment to detainees in a correctional setting, including routine and emergency medical care for acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.

Requirements

Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, weight checks, nebulizer treatments, etc. as ordered by a licensed medical provider.
Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director and document administration as required by GENESYS Health policy/procedure.
Carry out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN.
Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as well as keeping safety top priority.
Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting.
Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
