About The Position
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Medical Telemetry Unit. This unit is comprised of 24 beds, with 17 beds for medical telemetry patients and 7 beds for stroke/neuro patients. The unit cares for adults with conditions such as stroke rule out, TIA, CVA, syncope, COPD, CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and other acute problems requiring telemetry monitoring. A sign-on bonus of up to $8,000 is available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- LPN license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- NIHSS required (or will be taught)
- Nursing Trading School Graduate
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred
- Telemetry knowledge preferred but will be taught if unknown
- Clinic experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide care for adults with stroke rule out, TIA, CVA, syncope, COPD, CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and other acute problems needing telemetry monitoring.
- Monitor patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
