About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a full-time, day-shift Licensed Practical Nurse to provide home health care. The role supports patients in healing at home and involves coordinating with registered nurses and physicians, educating patients and caregivers, monitoring health, managing medications, performing ordered procedures, and documenting care. Pay is $26.00–$33.00, with compensation varying by geographic market and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Benefit eligibility may vary by position and shift status; participation in certain benefits requires enrollment in an Amedisys medical plan.

Requirements

One year of clinical LPN experience.
Current LPN license specific to the state(s) assigned.
Current CPR certification.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

Verify the plan of care with the RN before each visit.
Collaborate frequently with the physician and RN to ensure patient needs are met, and notify them as soon as possible when a patient's condition changes.
Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
Check vital signs.
Review all medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
Perform specialized procedures ordered by the physician, such as changing a Foley catheter.
Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
