About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered 60% Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in their QuickCare (Walk-in) Clinics. This role is responsible for assisting a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric, ensuring patient care standards are met, and providing access to additional care options. The position operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with opportunities for learning and growth, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork. Standard shifts will be primarily 10-12 hours, but may vary based on clinic needs. This position includes the University of Iowa's generous, full benefit package.

Requirements

Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN.
Previous experience in QuickCare Clinics.
Ambulatory experience
EPIC experience
Previous Walk-In Clinic experience.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic programs for patients.
In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel.
In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
