The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible to the Director of Nursing for rendering nursing care in assigned areas. This role involves utilizing nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing. The LPN will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks, provide quality care to patients by supporting CCWV quality initiatives, and contribute to developing the patient/caregiver plan of care. This position requires accurate administration of medications, performing venous blood draws, and potentially IV insertion after training. The LPN will maintain and coordinate communication among patient/caregiver, staff, and provider, assist in health teaching, and collaborate with other healthcare team members. Daily duties include equipment checks, instrument sterilization, maintaining stock rooms, monitoring inventory, and counseling patients on medication refills and clinical questions. Patient satisfaction, teamwork, problem-solving, efficiency, and adherence to departmental policies are key aspects of this role.
