Requirements

Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise and lead nursing assistants
Ability to communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans.
Safely administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate documentation.
Monitor resident conditions and promptly report significant changes to physicians, supervisors, and family members.
Complete and maintain accurate medical documentation, including MARs, treatment records, care plans, and resident summaries.
Supervise, support, and assign daily responsibilities to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care, safety, and staff performance.
Participate in shift report and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
Assist with quality assurance initiatives and implementation of care improvements.
Help maintain adequate supplies and identify chargeable resident items.
Participate in required education, in-service training, and continuing education to maintain clinical competency.
Promote Covenant Woods' values, Code of Conduct, and commitment to exceptional resident care.
