Summary Statement The incumbent provides nursing services including, but not limited to, direct nursing care, follow up assessments, implementing nursing care plans, and coordination of health care services for the residents. The incumbent will clinically supervise and evaluate the care and treatment provided to the residents by the certified nursing assistants and assists CNAs in care and treatments. In addition, the incumbent will have regular contact with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, administration, and other ancillary departments of the facility.

Requirements

• Possession of a Delaware Practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.
• At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse.
• At least eighteen months experience as a Practical Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
• Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
• Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
• Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
• Records information on patients' charts.
• Provides nursing services including, but not limited to, direct nursing care, follow up assessments, implementing nursing care plans, and coordination of health care services for the residents.
• Clinically supervises and evaluates the care and treatment provided to the residents by the certified nursing assistants and assists CNAs in care and treatments.
• Has regular contact with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, administration, and other ancillary departments of the facility.
