The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles, practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizing age and population-specific standards. The LPN will perform testing to evaluate resident status, recognize and solve problems, and respond effectively in emergent situations to ensure resident health, comfort, and safety. The position also includes contributing to resident assessments, administering medications and treatments, providing technical support, documenting resident interactions and outcomes, and counseling residents and families on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a supervisor. Additionally, the LPN will develop self-care programs using resident education principles and perform other related duties as assigned.
