Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting.
  • At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Implement assigned nursing care plans by checking vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments
  • Identify inmate needs through observations and report physical or emotional changes
  • Provide first aid, CPR, or AED during emergencies
  • Maintain electronic health records and prepare reports for inmate transfer or release
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain adequate stock of medical supplies
  • Assist with daily living activities, screenings, immunizations, and treatments
