About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Clinical Practice Nurse – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional practical nursing services to designated patients including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, collaboration and interaction within the health care team and participation in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

Requirements

  • Recent combined mother-baby care and/or recent Labour & Delivery and/or LDRP and/or neonatal and/or Antepartum nursing experience required.
  • Annual BLS Level C registration/re-registration is required.
  • Successful completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.
  • Current College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) registration required.
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration required.
  • Bilingualism required (ability to understand and speak English/French).
  • The candidate must be able to understand and speak French at a proficiency level that allows them to sustain varied in-depth conversations with patients and families.
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Nurses currently working on A6 Antepartum/Gyne will be deemed qualified due to antepartum on that unit.
