About The Position
PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work in the medical department at Northampton County Prison in Easton, Pennsylvania. The LPN provides comprehensive nursing care and performs duties under the supervision of an RN, while helping ensure relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel. The role includes maintaining and working with secure electronic medical records. A two-week orientation includes on-the-job training and shadowing nursing staff. Full-time and part-time evening shifts are available, with every other weekend required.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong patient assessment skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated clinical competency.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmate/patients.
- Ensure relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain, update, and work with secure electronic medical records.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Conduct sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries according to written protocols approved by the PCM Medical Director.
- Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmate/patients.
- Participate in formulating plans of care.
- Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
