About The Position
Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV) is seeking an exceptional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Walk-In and Urgent Care services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys caring for patients with acute illnesses and injuries. IHCWV has been serving rural West Virginia for over 30 years with a mission to make exceptional healthcare accessible to everyone and is currently expanding its services.
Requirements
- Current West Virginia LPN license (or compact license)
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong assessment, communication, and clinical skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and clinical information
- Assist providers with examinations and urgent care procedures
- Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and treatments
- Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and phlebotomy
- Assist with wound care, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and other clinical procedures
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up services when needed
- Maintain accurate electronic health records
- Support quality and patient safety initiatives
