About The Position

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Community Pediatrics of Northbridge location. This role is crucial in providing exceptional patient care within a leading health system. Community Pediatrics of Northbridge is hiring for both part-time and full-time positions, ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing program.
  • Current Massachusetts LPN licensure.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
  • Three to twelve months of experience.
  • Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be substituted.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient flow and prepares patients for examinations, office procedures, and laboratory procedures.
  • Assists physicians and other medical staff as required.
  • Evaluates patients, documents information, and takes vital signs (weight, blood pressure, height, temperature).
  • Cleans and stocks examination rooms, maintaining supplies and pharmaceuticals.
  • Performs and records laboratory results (e.g., urine dip sticks), ensuring physician review.
  • Triage medical calls, returns calls, documents in patient records, ensures follow-up, and provides patient education.
  • Calls in prescriptions and refills as directed and documents these actions.
  • Establishes a recall system for physical examinations, pap smears, abnormal tests, and related results.
  • Calls patients who miss appointments, documents no-shows, and follows up as required.
  • Prepares, administers, and documents immunizations, injections, and laboratory tests according to standard procedures and within the scope of practice.
  • Receives and evaluates patient referrals as required.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars as required.
  • Demonstrates the use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to a professional, tolerant, civil, and accepting environment.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
