UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Community Pediatrics of Northbridge location. Community Pediatrics of Northbridge is hiring for both part-time and full-time positions, ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing program.
Current Massachusetts LPN licensure.
Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
Three to twelve months of experience.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be substituted.

Responsibilities

Coordinates patient flow and prepares patients for examinations, office procedures, and laboratory procedures.
Assists physicians and other medical staff as required.
Evaluates patients, documents information, and takes vital signs (weight, blood pressure, height, temperature).
Cleans and stocks examination rooms, maintaining supplies and pharmaceuticals.
Performs and records laboratory results (e.g., urine dip sticks), ensuring physician review.
Triage medical calls, returns calls, documents in patient records, ensures follow-up, and provides patient education.
Calls in prescriptions and refills as directed and documents these actions.
Establishes a recall system for physical examinations, pap smears, abnormal tests, and related results.
Calls patients who miss appointments, documents no-shows, and follows up as required.
Prepares, administers, and documents immunizations, injections, and laboratory tests according to standard procedures and within the scope of practice.
Receives and evaluates patient referrals as required.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars as required.
Demonstrates the use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
