About The Position

We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Pediatric Emergency Department at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. This is a full-time evening position. The role involves providing direct patient care, assessments, and therapeutic services under the direction of an RN or physician, strictly within the licensed scope of practice. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and closely monitoring patients for any adverse reactions to treatments. Additionally, the nurse will educate patients and their families on discharge plans, holistic health needs, self-care practices, and available community resources.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
