About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of their training and experience. This role is for the SONU unit and involves night shifts.

Requirements

Current Wyoming Practical Nurse (PN) License from the Wyoming State Board of Nursing OR Current enhanced Nurse Licensure (eNLC)
Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date
Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail
Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations

Nice To Haves

Prior acute care experience
IV Certification

Responsibilities

Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately into patient chart.
Collaborates with the RN to review and/or revise the plan of care, including a discharge plan, based upon the assessment of patient's needs.
Implements medical and nursing orders as allowed by the Wyoming LPN scope of practice and hospital policy, and documents appropriately.
Collaborates with the RN to evaluate patient's response to care.
Engages in patient/family teaching as appropriate; performs clinical/technical skills as required by the specific department.
Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department needs.
