Responsibilities
- Obtain patient vital signs including temperature, heart rate, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and weight.
- Insert saline locks.
- Assist with basic and advanced cardiac life support.
- Apply sterile dressings.
- Remove sutures and staples.
- Assist with pelvic exams.
- Perform EKGs.
- Perform wound cleansing and irrigation.
- Administer oral medications.
- Apply splints including volar, thumb spica, ulnar gutter, and posterior leg splints.
- Perform routine lab testing.
- Collect cultures through mucous membrane swabs.
- Administer and read TB skin tests.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Administer medications through intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous, and intradermal routes.
- Stay flexible and support clinic operations.
