About The Position

UPMC Williamsport is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for its Family Practice Center. The role provides professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week, with no weekend or holiday work required.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
Current licensure in the state where the facility is located, or a multistate license issued by a participating Nursing Licensure Compact state if applicable. Employees with an out-of-state NLC license who change residency to the facility’s state must apply for licensure there within 60 days.
CPR certification meeting AHA standards, including didactic and skills-demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Act 33 clearance, with renewal.
Act 34 clearance, with renewal.
Act 73 FBI clearance, with renewal.

Nice To Haves

One year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies, including OSHA, CLIA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Administer medications, including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and IV drip medications.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Assess patients’ general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Document activities and interventions, patient and family responses, and medications dispensed or prescribed in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physicians’ advice and instructions.
