With a 172-year history in the Hopkinsville community WSH is a State acute care, adult psychiatric facility, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. WSH provides in-patient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults from 34 counties of Western Kentucky who have severe mental illness. Every employee is part of our caring and competent team committed to excellent in behavioral healthcare for our patients and we have openings for Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team. Requirements
- Must be licensed in Kentucky as a practical nurse or must have a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain any required licensure (s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities
- Prepares, administers and charts medication.
- Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Performs medical treatments as instructed by physician.
- Accepts and accounts for drugs and related paraphernalia.
- Explains medication purposes, dosages and possible side effects to individuals.
- Performs simple maintenance on medical treatment equipment.
- Participates in nursing care conferences and treatment team meetings.
- Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
