About The Position

Somerset Health Services is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Somerset Allergy Clinic. This outpatient position is ideal for an LPN who excels in a structured, patient-focused setting and enjoys building relationships with individuals managing allergy-related conditions. The role offers a consistent daylight schedule with no weekend or holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior allergy injection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer allergy injections to approximately 80+ patients per day and address patient questions.
  • Receive and respond to calls from outside offices regarding dose adjustments.
  • Perform allergy skin testing for patients of all ages, interpret results, and communicate findings.
  • Mix allergy serums for patients following compliance completion.
  • Administer Xolair injections per physician orders on a 14–28‑day schedule.
  • Document all clinical activities, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
  • Provide patient education and reinforce physician instructions to promote wellness.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and sensitive patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health, and other regulatory standards.
  • Follow all Somerset Health Services policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient, and compassionate outpatient environment.
