About The Position

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a qualified On-Call Licensed Practical Nurse - NOC Shift to join their Medically Managed Withdrawal treatment team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives during night shifts and possesses strong nursing skills. The role involves providing exceptional nursing care to clients, focusing on promoting health, preventing disease, and treating individuals within an inpatient medically managed withdrawal setting. The nurse will operate according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Graduation from a state-accredited School of Nursing program.
• A current and unencumbered license to practice as a Licensed Professional Nurse in the state of Oregon at the time of appointment.
• One (1) year of Licensed Practical Nursing experience highly preferred. New graduates of an accredited nursing program may be considered.
• Or any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
• Comprehensive knowledge of, and skill in performing, current nursing practice.
• Ability to apply nursing knowledge and principles and policies underlying the administration of a nursing service.
• Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of individuals in the course of medical treatments.
• Ability to maintain confidential records and information.
• Ability to accept and abide by supervision received.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Skilled in English usage and in basic mathematics.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and the public.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and performs treatments and procedures under the direction of a nurse practitioner or physician.
• Completes accurate and thorough medical documentation, including clients' medical charts, medication records, pertinent observations, computerized dispensing and pharmacy records, and required state or department database entry.
• Conducts nursing assessments on all inpatient clients, including initial and ongoing focused assessments of health status, and reports findings to the Registered Nurse or licensed physician as needed.
• Prepares and dispenses or provides for the dispensing of appropriate medication or treatment, evaluates side effects and potential interactions, and adheres to accepted medical practices and medication management per OAR/ORS.
• Updates and maintains prescription records for treatment and all medical records associated with medication storage and dispensing, complying with federal, state, and program requirements.
• Coordinates client appointments with physician(s).
• Educates clients regarding other disease processes and refers as needed to other medical agencies for follow-up care, as directed by a physician.
• Maintains records of nursing services, including statistics and compilation of requested reports.
• Prepares and labels specimens.
• Maintains clinic equipment and supplies.
• Charts on all clients seen for medical support.
• Participates in discharge planning for clients' ongoing medical needs.
• Conducts T.B. skin testing on all inpatient clients in treatment for more than 30 days.
• Conducts annual T.B. skin testing on all inpatient clients and staff.
• Attends staff meetings and works as a team member to identify and implement quality of services.
• Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
