Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to relate to others and quickly establish a climate of trust.
  • Definite interest in the field of health and high-tech devices.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment and when working in a team.
  • Meticulous, precise, rigorous, patient and focused, no detail can escape you.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the field of ophthalmology and/or optometry is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgery.
  • Provide excellent patient care in the recovery area.
  • Maintain the crash cart and emergency supplies.
  • Assist the surgeon and the surgical team with patient flow.
  • Update medical records in our EMR systems.
  • Support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
