About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care utilizing the MS Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees. This role is located at the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, Singing River Pascagoula Hospital and involves night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
Current State of Mississippi licensed as an LPN required.
Current BCLS certification required upon hire and/or transfer.
De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.

Nice To Haves

Expanded role licensure preferred.
6 months nursing experience preferred.
