About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center provides direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of an RN and supervises nursing assistants’ day-to-day activities to help maintain high-quality care. The role is scheduled for weekend shifts from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. and is paid for 40 hours. The listed pay is $38–$43 per hour, depending on the shift; evening, overnight, and weekend shift differentials are available, and employees are paid weekly.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
- CPR certification.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in the state, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least one year of experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or another related health care facility; new graduates are welcome.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of an RN.
- Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
- Meet each resident’s nursing and rehabilitation needs.
- Maintain current resident care plans.
- Follow physicians’ orders.
- Transcribe physicians’ orders promptly and accurately.
- Review patient records daily for accuracy and completeness.
- Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes.
- Visit each resident daily to evaluate their needs.
- Maintain accurate awareness of residents on the alert list.
- Document and report unusual or significant findings and contact the physician when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
